These Constructions are a result of my interest in building, construction, and “the home” in its undefined, most exposed form. The use of domestic construction materials (such as insulation, sheetrock, 2x4 lumber, latex paint, caution flagging, etc.) forms a dialogue with society’s intimate, familiar spaces. I playfully revert the static home back to flux environment of the job site and redefine the construction mode with an idiosyncratic end as a sculpture. The reforming of these materials calls convention into question and leaves space for paradox, dichotomy, multiplicity, latency, and insecurity. The questioning of what an object is, and what an object might suggest makes an expanse, and it is within this gap that my work balances.
